The relevance of air quality monitoring is a key element of the European agenda, and a new monitoring regulation (Directive 2881\/2024) will come into force in 2030. In this context, the Italian component of ACTRIS (Aerosol, Clouds and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure), together with the Next Generation EU project ITINERIS (Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructures System) and the H2020 project RI-URBANS (Research Infrastructures Services Reinforcing Air Quality Monitoring Capacities in European Urban & Industrial Areas), organized an event on 7\u20138 April 2025 to establish a common ground among Italian air quality stakeholders.<\/p>

The meeting involved 14 Regional Environmental Protection Agencies (ARPA) and the Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA). A total of 120 participants (both online and on site) discussed, through round tables, several topics that emerged from a preliminary survey distributed to potentially interested stakeholders. The discussions highlighted a series of key aspects on which future actions should be built, particularly the need to strengthen the connection between the scientific community and environmental agencies. This process will also have to address the challenges arising from differences among local monitoring sites and the development of a unified data access system. The active participation throughout the two-day event demonstrated that a coordinated effort and a shared strategic vision will support the Italian air quality stakeholders in meeting the requirements of the new regulation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
