ACTRIS–IT has been launched in 2015 and it strongly contributed to the preparation of the proposal for the ESFRI roadmap. ACTRIS-IT is strongly involved in the implementation and operation of the ACTRIS Research Infrastructure. ACTRIS-IT has established (October 2017) a Joint Research Unit (JRU) in order to foster, strengthen and formalize the collaboration of the Italian research community in this field, support technical upgrades, improve the national observing system and coordinate common activities, develop and label ACTRIS National and Central facilities.
